Graduating Class of 2024
*Graduation: is on Wednesday, May 15, 5:00pm at West High School Auditorium, 1700 Hillcrest Drive Anchorage, AK 99517. Graduates need to arrive by 4:00pm.
*Graduate Fun Day: May1st, 11:00 to 1:00pm at Dave & Buster’s. Bus departs the school at 10:45am and we’ll stop at King Tech at 1:00pm to drop off students, and we’ll arrive at Benson by 1:20pm. Students must drive the school bus to attend this activity.
*Rehearsal: Will be at Benny Benson Gym at 11:30am on May 10. We will cover the details of the ceremony, and practice lining up for roll call. If you need your gown steamed, please bring it to rehearsal.
*Jostens: All students who will be walking at graduation need a cap, gown, tassel, and stole unit. You have until Friday April 26, only cash accepted $70.00. You can also borrow a cap and gown if you don’t want to buy it. please see Miss Bacher
*Check-out form: Please complete this form if you plan on graduating this May. We will use this information for printing of diplomas. Go to Benson’s website: /benson Class 2024.
*Pictures: We need two pictures of the graduate ASAP, one as a baby or toddler, and a recent picture or senior portrait to include in Benson’s graduation video. Deadline is April 22. Text your pictures to Ms. Ramos at (907)350-9741.
Transcripts: If you need a transcript visit Students will also get an official transcript at rehearsal day.
*Graduation Speech: We want the ceremony to be a meaningful celebration for each student. Graduates are invited and encouraged to give a short speech at graduation. If you would like to speak, remember speeches have to be pre-approved, give a copy of your speech to Miss Bacher bacher_dayl@asdk12.org by Friday, May 3, 2024. We will have a copy printed and ready for graduation.
