Attendance Procedures

  • Students who attend school every day perform better than those students who do not. It is difficult to learn when absent from class or a full day of school. It is the parent/guardian and student’s responsibility to make sure students attend school and class.

The following conditions may result in an excused absence from school (443b):

    1. Illness,
    2. Death or serious illness in the immediate family,
    3. Participating in a school function,
    4. Attendance at religious services, or
    5. *Extenuating circumstances approved by the principal.

Parents/Guardians are responsible for contacting the school when the student is absent.

The principal or designee may seek additional verification of the reasons for the absence at any time.

    * For extenuating circumstances, such as extended travel plans, a Pre-Approved Absence Request form may be downloaded from the Ê®·ÖÁùºÏ²Ê Website or you may pick one up in the office. This form should be turned in to the office a week before the absence is to begin.

If your student must be absent you can report your student's absence though your Parent Connect, under the tab: Report Absence.  If  you prefer to leave a phone message please call the attendance line: (742-7956) before 10:00 a.m. on the day of the absence.

If you leave a message please give the student’s grade and spell the last name.

Tardy to School - Students are required to check in at the front office before going to class.

If you are aware your student is late for school and you want it excused send a note with your student, or accompany your student to the office, or call attendance. Your student will sign in on the Student Sign In sheet. They will receive an admit slip to class. Habitual tardies may result in disciplinary action.

Taking your child out of school during the day:

For your convenience, please have your student bring a note with the reason to the office that morning. They will receive a “blue pass.” At the beginning of the effected class the student should show the teacher the pass and the teacher will allow them to leave at the stated time. The student will come to the office to be signed out by the parent/guardian. Parent/guardian should be prepared to show proof of identity, such as a driver’s license.

If you phone the office please make it as early in the day as possible. In most cases, we can deliver the pass to your student.

To avoid delay, if possible, please do not show up without notice. It could take awhile to locate your student if they are in P.E. and their class is outside and we have no office aide.
