Ê®·ÖÁùºÏ²Ê Involvement

  • Involving students in community service projects throughout the year is necessary to help them carve out a place for themselves in the city as well as experience the satisfaction that comes with helping others.

  • Food Drive

Each year the Ê®·ÖÁùºÏ²Ê partners with United Way for the United Way "Day of Caring" food drive. The Food Bank of Alaska is the recipient of the food collected. The food drive has become a tradition at SAVE High School.  Despite our small size, SAVE is among the top three schools in collecting donations each year. The generosity and participation by students and staff is truly amazing.

  • Clean Up Day

SAVE High School's annual Clean Up Day coincides with the citywide cleanup day in early Spring.  SAVE students, with the help of the entire staff, parents, and community volunteers, clean up the surrounding neighborhood, Campbell Creek, and the school grounds.  At the end of the day, SAVE hosts a barbecue and drawing for an array of fabulous prizes.

  • Holiday Cheer Drive

SAVE High School contributes each year to bring holiday cheer to those in our community. Students and staff have done this by collecting toys for the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive, contributing gifts for the Children in Transition Angel Tree, and creating care packages for our local military who are serving our country over seas.

  • Thanksgiving Feast

Each year before the Thanksgiving holiday, SAVE High School hosts a Thanksgiving feast, showcasing the wide variety of cultures and backgrounds of our students and staff.  All students bring a food item to share that is traditional to their family.  The school provides the more customary fare of turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes.  Members from the community, employers of our students, and School Business Partners are also invited to help the school celebrate and give thanks.  At the end of the day all of the leftover food is then donated to a local food kitchen.
