Welcome to Orion Elementary School!  I hope you will take time to review all the information about our school located here on our site. We are a school that has a long, rich tradition of academic excellence.  We are a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. We are deemed a “5 Star” school by the Alaska Department of Education.  As you will see by examining our site, staff and parents go above and beyond to help make students successful, while working to create a caring and nurturing environment for students to be a part of each day.  Orion is a special place where students are excelling socially and academically as our country's future leaders. 

With a focus on student achievement and preparing students for the future, we are committed to research-based practices and curriculum that challenge students to be their best. We define student success by each child reaching his or her full potential.  We want students to reach their full potential academically.  We also strive to give our students leadership opportunities and the training needed to be successful in the 21st century. 

Orion's teachers and staff promote goal setting and self awareness through our social emotional Second Steps curriculum that is actively taught daily. We are dedicated to helping students achieve.  It is our sincere belief that: “Each Child, Every Day, Will Be Successful.”
