Dear Trailside Families,
This is the final newsletter of the school year. It always amazes me how quickly the last two months of school go. I have really tried to savor each moment with students, staff, and families. My time at Trailside has been nothing short of phenomenal. The feeling of family at Trailside is evident as soon as you walk in the building. This feeling is due to all the great community members, staff, and students. I am grateful to have been a part of it all.
As I move on, I am leaving you in great hands. Mr. Niessner will be stepping in as principal for the 2024-25 school year. He will be working with me the last few weeks of this year, to ensure a smooth transition into the next school year. There will be many new things happening next year that are exciting for Trailside. We are getting a new Lifeskills Program. We will have preschool through 5th grade next year and we are getting a security upgrade to the front office this summer. Things will look a little different, but Trailside will remain the best place to learn!
Again, I want to tell you to please keep in touch and let me know how your family is doing. My personal email is hjones4593@msn.com. I would love to hear from you and your children as they progress through school. As I stated in an earlier message, I will be moving closer to my parents and kids. I am excited to be starting a new adventure. So many new doors will open, and opportunities will unfold.
Have an excellent summer! Enjoy time with family and friends and stay safe. I thank each of you for entrusting me with your child(dren) each and every day I have been at Trailside.
Lots of Hugs,
Heather Jones, principal

Nurse Donna's News -Prescription drug take back day
Our Fabulous Nurse Donna’s Corner! The next National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is April 27, 2024. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. For more information:The drug overdose epidemic in the United States is a clear and present public health, public safety, and national security threat. DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day reflects DEA’s commitment to Americans’ safety and health, encouraging the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting. DEA is committed to making our communities safer and healthier, and we can do this by reducing overdoses and overdose deaths. While the community does its part to turn in unneeded medications and remove them from potential harm, we are doing our part to further reduce drug-related violence.
