Plan Ahead for a Successful Start!

  • Step One: Register

In-person registration will be on August 2nd and 3rd 2022. Please enter the building using the doors by the flag poles.

Online registration will be available in July 2022. Use if the student is already enrolled in Ê®·ÖÁùºÏ²Ê. The office staff at Mears will be available by phone to reset PIN numbers and passwords for Q Parent Connect. Contact them at 742-6400 on or after July 15th.

Step Two: Sign up for Panther Camp

What is Panther Camp?  Panther Camp is a half-day opportunity for kids to become more familiar with Mears and the most stressful parts of the first week of school. Activities such as opening their locker, finding all of their classrooms, procedures in the locker rooms, signing up for sports, extra curricular activities, what to do once you reach the lunchroom, and more are covered during Panther Camp.

Use the Panther Camp link above to find dates, times, schedule, and registration forms.

Step Three: Determine your Bus Route

To determine your child's bus route please go to the district page. Enter your address and wait for the map.

    Step Four: Teams

A team is a group of core teachers who share the same 135 students. This creates a smaller learning community for students, allows collaboration of curriculum units, and it gives teachers the ability to analyze and discuss data on their shared students. The theme for team names this school year is: glaciers. Visit the Teams page for a list of team names, team colors, teacher's names, and glacier locations. Most students can determine which team they are on using the name of their science teacher, there are some exceptions. Tentative schedules should be available in Q Student Connect after August 11th.

    Step Five: School Supplies

There are some basic supplies that every middle schooler will probably need. Here is a list of those .

    Step Six: Sports and Activities

All intramural and interscholastic sports require a health exam with form and a participation form. Interscholastic sports have a fee. Look on the Sports page for a list of what sports are available at Mears, dates are still tentative for when each sport will occur (the dates should be close), if they are interscholastic or intramural, and if any additional forms are needed.

    Step Seven: Come to School!

The first day of school is August 18th, we can't wait to see you!
