Extracurricular Activities

  • The Clark Informers

The Informers research exciting and interesting topics, presenting their findings to the Clark Middle School community and to the general public. Student’s research and public speaking skills are strengthened which enhance their opportunities and preparation for higher learning.

    Clark Drumline

Clark Middle School founded the Drumline with the ambition to give students the opportunity to tap into their musical nature while simultaneously engaging them in extra-curricular events. Maintaining a program that can continue to provide a safe outlet and an enrichment opportunity has been the top priority.

Clark's Drumline has participated in multiple local community events, and has performed for a variety of prestigious community leaders and politicians alike. The Drumline has performed at the Fur Rondy Parade, Great Alaska Shootout, 2020 Kickoff, and other Anchorage events.

    Clark Flag Team

The Clark Flag Team accompanies the Clark Drumline during their public performances. The flag team is a non-musical section that provides additional visual aspects to the performance by interpreting the music that the Drumline is playing via the synchronized work of flags. There are many different types of spins and tosses that can be done with the flag. Each spin or toss creates a different illusion and can be used for different tempos. Occasionally, the flag team performs without the Drumline, offering a separate interpretation to a contemporary musical number.
