• The evidence presented indicates that students are well-prepared for their progression in STEM education. Our school staff at Campbell STEM has diligently aligned curriculum across all academic areas, ensuring that students transition smoothly from one grade level to the next. We've also implemented the Engineer Design Process in instruction. In addition, we embrace the 4 C’s of STEM education (critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity). Progress in these areas is monitored and displayed throughout the school and during after school STEM events/exhibits.

Academically, Campbell STEM elementary students exhibit readiness for the next level of STEM learning through various means. They engage in STEM performance-based assessments closely tied to state standards, maintain data, and often conduct self-assessments. Moreover, this progress is communicated not only within the school but also to families, peers, School Buisness Partners and the broader community.

Our students consistently meet expectations in acquiring STEM knowledge and skills. They demonstrate their abilities through performance assessments and the application of the Engineer Design Process. With the aid of rubrics aligned to success criteria, students can assess their strengths and areas of growth. Additionally, Campbell STEM students utilize technology in purposeful manners, advancing in complexity as they advance through grade levels, showcasing their learning to diverse audiences.

A noted challenge is the need for more time to facilitate student reflection and self-assessment effectively. We recognize the necessity for a vertically aligned process across all grades to streamline these practices for both students and staff.

Moving forward, our focus remains on empowering students to take ownership of their learning and critically think. We will continue to provide opportunities for performance tasks, maintain data, and host showcases. Efforts will be made to refine and systematize these processes, ensuring smoother implementation for all stakeholders.

To achieve this, we plan to schedule dedicated schoolwide planning sessions to enhance our utilization of these processes. Through collaborative refinement, we aim to better support both staff and students in their journey of STEM learning and growth.
