Good afternoon, Ê®·ÖÁùºÏ²Ê community and happy last day of school!
Thank you for making the 2023-24 school year such a success. This year has been transformative for Ê®·ÖÁùºÏ²Ê.
We’ve implemented across the District, giving teachers dedicated time to collaborate, participate in professional development, and sharpen their skills for the best classroom experience.
We also launched our and are already seeing big progress–particularly with our youngest learners. We can accredit this growth to our amazing teachers, who have the capacity to set students up for success. For example, our teachers are trained in the science of reading. They are highly engaged with students, and students have a clear understanding of what they need to learn. Additionally, teachers have high and consistent expectations.
These academic expectations go hand-in-hand with the mental health initiative we piloted this year: It’s an evidence-based framework for teaching and supporting positive behavior for all students. Through PBIS, schools establish clear expectations for behaviors across all school settings. The combination of a safe and consistent learning environment and challenging yet clear academic expectations are setting the stage for student success.
Every day your student is in school matters. Thank you to the families and communities who support your students in getting to school every day– is key.
Looking ahead, we have some significant changes on the horizon when you return in the fall, including changes to and transitioning.
Additionally, the holds tremendous promise for addressing workforce challenges and increasing graduation rates. Our focus remains steadfast on improving outcomes for our students.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge the staff transitions taking place within our district. To those retiring or moving on to new roles, thank you for your dedication and years of service. We are also fortunate to welcome a new cohort of leaders who will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of our district. Your commitment to our students is unmatched, and i'm grateful for each and every one of you.
I’d like to close by saying while summer break is here, many resources for families will continue throughout the summer. Please for information on, and a
I wish you a restful summer break.
